Ayanna is an activist, policy maker and advocate. Ayanna Pressley won election on November 6, 2018 to serve as the representative of Massachusetts the seventh Congressional District at the U.S. House of Representatives. She is the first female of color to have been elected to the House from Massachusetts. Ayanna believes that the opinions from those who suffer the most will be the ones to determine the policy. Ayanna was raised in Cincinnati was raised within Chicago as the only daughter of a mother who is not married and father who has a criminal history. Ayanna was educated by Sandra Pressley, a tenant's rights advocate who helped her develop a sense of civic responsibility.
