Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is an author, television personality, philanthropist as well as the founder and editor of The Huffington Post. She moved from Greece to England aged 16 where she earned an MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first time as president, and she held it at the age of 21. A conservative syndicated blogger following her graduation, she went on to become a voice of the Huffington Post. The fame of Arianna led to the recruitment of a variety of renowned contributors. Arianna's fame began in 2003, when she was a candidate for an independent in the California recall vote in order to replace the then governor Davis. Arianna was also part of the Detroit-based initiative that advocated for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as one of the top women in the media, achieving 12th place on the listing and the following year, the Guardian named her to the top 100 media list. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. Then she was appointed the president of the media division at AOL. It was comprised of several AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and management consultant Konstantinos as well as his spouse Elli Stasinopoulos. While she was close with her father, the relationship she had to her mom was the defining factor in the remainder of her life. At an early age, she showed leadership abilities which are still widely admired. When she was in her 16th year she travelled to England for a degree and attended Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined Cambridge Union, a college debating club. As the third woman president, and also the first foreigner she was the president of Cambridge Union. In 1972, she earned an education in Economics. After the graduation ceremony, she worked as a critic columnist and television host. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she started writing her own books with his aid.
