Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born to a musically inclined family on August 9th, 1963, in Newark New Jersey the daughter of gospel superstar Cissy Houston (nee Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. as well as a cousin of the singing sensation Dionne Warwick. When she was a kid she was a singer in the New Hope Baptist Church Choir in Newark. When she was fifteen, Houston was singing professionally backing vocals with her mother on Chaka Khan's 1978 song Im Every Woman. Her mother, Jermaine, and Lou Rawls were among the artists she backed up. Also, she was modeling for Seventeen Magazine in 1981. She began working as a lead vocalist with the band from New York called Material as well. This is where she would remain for the remainder of her career. Whitney Houston's debut Whitney Houston album was released in the year 1985. It would become one of the best-selling album by a musician. The album had several smash singles, such as Saving All My Love for You How Do You Know You Give Good Love And The More Love of All. This led to her achieving seven US Top Ones consecutively. It was even better than the Beatles. The album sold 3 million copies in its debut season in the US and went on to sell 25 million worldwide winning her the first of her six Grammies. The Whitney album from 1987, featuring the tracks I Wanna Dance With Somebody and Where Do Broken Hearts Get to and continued to be a huge success. But it is The Bodyguard of 1992 that made her one of the most successful musicians in recent history. While her movie performance and its soundtrack were not appreciated however, her Dolly Parton cover I Will Always Love You as well as The Bodyguard album that accompanied it topped charts around the globe for several months. Also in 1993 that she was married to Bobby Brown, an ex-New Edition singer who gave the sole child of her marriage, Bobbi Kristina Brown. Dana Bash is also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz and she is employed by CNN as anchorwoman, reporter and political correspondent.
